About The Photographer

Jack Liska-Verdu is a photojournalist and visual storyteller specializing in sports and documentary work. His photography is raw, emotion-driven, and rooted in storytelling—focused on the moments that often go unnoticed. Rather than following the obvious, his work seeks out the small, defining details buried within the chaos.

Originally rooted in fine art photography, Jack began by creating high-contrast black-and-white imagery before shifting toward photojournalism after recognizing the power of images to document real moments and human experience. His body of work captures tradition, culture, conflict, and emotion while consistently preserving the human element at its core.

Whether on the sidelines or in quieter, in-between moments, his work is driven by a desire to make viewers pause—to feel something, and to reflect on the stories unfolding within each frame.

Jack currently serves as Head Photojournalist and Photo Editor for his college newspaper, where he leads visual coverage and helps shape the publication’s storytelling.

His work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Budapest Art Market, PhotoZA Gallery in Johannesburg, BBA Art Gallery in Germany, and the Bridgeport Art Center in Chicago. He has also been featured in Digital Photographer Magazine.

He is a multi-award-winning photographer, earning multiple honors from the Wisconsin Newspaper Association, including placements in Featured Photography, Sports Photography, and Multimedia. His work has also contributed to nationally recognized collegiate journalism, including Associated Collegiate Press Pacemaker honors and finalist distinctions.
